The calendar committee for Garden City Public Schools is seeking input from parents regarding calendar options for the 2026-2027 school year. The survey consists of 6 questions and will take only a couple minutes. Survey is open through January 15th. Thank you!

As much as we would like to have students back in school, we do not feel that can be done safely due to forecasted extreme windchill temperatures. There will be NO SCHOOL on Tuesday, January 16th for Garden City Public Schools.

Santa isn’t ready to go back to school yet! Due to expected inclement weather conditions, all Garden City Public Schools facilities will be closed to the public on Monday, January 8th.
The Board of Education meeting will proceed as normal at 6pm and will be open to the public.
Staff members are not required to report to work, unless specifically instructed by their supervisor.

Garden City Public Schools will run mud routes tomorrow, Monday, November 27.
Parents of bus riders - please be aware that bus routes may be delayed 15-20 minutes tomorrow, October 27. If you have questions, please call your child's school or the transportation department. We appreciate your patience!

There will be no school on Monday, September 25 for a teacher inservice day.
This year's Ages and Stages Screening is Friday, September 8. There will be no school for all Garfield and Kindergarten students. Students 1st - 12th grade will attend classes as usual.

The GCHS football players were at Florence Wilson Elementary School this morning greeting students and giving high fives. The team will travel to Wichita-Heights this Friday for their first regular season game.

The first day of school for many of our students is tomorrow! We're excited to see you!

The first day of the 23-24 school year is Tuesday, August 15. All elementary (Kindergarten-5th), 7th, 9th, and 10th grade students, as well as any student new to the district will begin with a half day orientation on August 15. Sixth graders at Abe Hubert, Jennie Barker, and Plymell are also encouraged to attend school that day, but won't be counted absent if they don't attend.
⏰ GCHS, HGMS, KHMS will dismiss at 11:10 a.m.
⏰ GC Achieve will dismiss at 11:40 a.m.
⏰ BSIC, CSIC, and all elementary schools will dismiss at 11:50 a.m.
The first full day of school for all students will be Wednesday, August 16. Garfield Early Childhood Center starts school on Monday, August 21. Go to www.gckschools.com for more information, including this year's start/end times and school supply lists.
All staff members will be in our Back to School Inservice on Friday, August 11. Schools and district offices will be closed from 8:00-10:30 a.m. and will reopen shortly after the inservice ends.
